FOHL Players of the Month (October)

October's players of the month are brought to you by SkipTheDishes, official partner of the FOHL.

Player of the Month - Jason Robertson (Kingston Frontenacs)
His time in Kingston may be coming to an end, but that hasn't stopped the 19 year old power forward from lightning up Leon's Centre in K-Town. Arguably the best player on the trade block this season, Robertson has the perfect mix between high-end skill and physical tools to dominate the OHL. He currently has 25 points in 14 games, and may be single handedly carrying the Frontenacs out of the basement. The return should be high whenever this game breaker gets dealt.

Goaltender of the Month - Ukko Pekka-Luukkonen (North Bay Battalion)
When the CHL loosened their restrictions on import goaltenders, they probably didn't envision such a dominate force like UPL joining their ranks. He's as close to pro-ready as the league has ever seen, and the Battalion were quick to scoop him up in the Import Draft. Though fans may be lamenting their recent conceit to the Oshawa Generals, and rumors have him ending up in in the 905, but that hasn't stopped the Finnish netminder from posting a cool 9-2-1 record, with a ridiculous .933 save percentage and a downright nasty 1.93 GAA.

Rookie of the Month - Quinton Byfield (Flint Firebirds)
Their water isn't any safer to drink, and they're still barely moving out of mom's basement, but the Flint Firebirds finally have a reason for fans to get excited, and that reason is Quinton Byfield. He's not just their leading scorer, he might be the only reason to tune into a game. The 6'4, 200lb Byfield is showing scouts why he might be the top choice for the 2020 NHL draft, showing shades of Rick Nash out there and carrying the Firebirds.

Defenseman of the Month - Nicolas Mattinen (Barrie Colts)
After bouncing from London, to Hamilton, to Peterborough and finally to Barrie, the overage defenseman Nicolas Mattinen has established himself as one of the league's most feared blueliners. He plays a pro-ready game, capable of laying the body or creating scoring chances with his incredible shot. In fact, he's scored 9 goals already this season in 14 games. That's good enough to tie him for sixth in the league in goals scored, and almost double the amount other defensemen are producing. Quite frankly, he's playing at a record breaking pace for the Colts.

Previous Winners (September)
